A Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is a part of the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan with clearly defined borders, operating under a special legal regime for carrying out priority types of activities.

SEZs are established to accelerate the development of modern, high-performance, and competitive industries, attract investments and new technologies in various economic sectors and regions, and increase employment.

How to Become an SEZ Participant?

 

 

 

 

 

Required package of documents

The SEZ participant may choose any method of financial security, including a combination of several methods.

If the legal entity is not a resident of the Republic of Kazakhstan and not registered as a taxpayer in Kazakhstan at the time of submission, a copy of a certificate of non-registration as a taxpayer with the state revenue authorities must be provided.

Foreign legal entities must provide legalized documents listed in points 2), 4), and 5) of the first part of this section, a legalized extract from the trade registry, or another legalized document confirming that the foreign legal entity is recognized as a legal entity under the laws of its home country, along with a notarized translation into Kazakh and Russian.
