TIANSHAN FORUM: ALMATY STRENGTHENS ITS POSITION AS AN INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT HUB
Investment begins where trust exists. Today, cities compete for the opportunity to become platforms where new international partnerships are forged and decisions shaping the economy of the future are made.
It is on such platforms that new ideas emerge and business ties grow stronger. The Tianshan Forum became the central topic of a working meeting between representatives of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Almaty Entrepreneurship and Investment Department, Almaty Invest, and Kazakh Invest.
The Tianshan Forum is an international platform of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Institute, bringing together representatives of government agencies, international organizations, financial institutions, and the business community. CAREC unites 11 countries—Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, China, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan—creating favorable conditions for regional integration and the implementation of joint economic initiatives.
For Almaty, preparations for the Tianshan Forum are of strategic importance. The city continues to strengthen its position as the leading investment, financial, and business hub of Central Asia, reinforcing its reputation as a reliable platform for international cooperation and investment attraction.
According to the information presented during the meeting, the forum is preliminarily planned to be held in autumn 2026.
