Almaty–Shanghai: A Path to the Technologies of the Future

That is why one of the key outcomes of the business forum in Shanghai, attended by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, was the signing of an agreement to implement one of the most advanced technological projects in recent years in Almaty—the construction of the first overseas manufacturing facility of a global leader in humanoid robotics.

Today, artificial intelligence and humanoid robots are no longer science fiction. They are already transforming manufacturing, healthcare, education, and the service sector, becoming a new driving force of the global economy. That is why cities seeking to remain competitive in the future are investing in next-generation technologies today.

As part of the working visit, the Almaty Invest team, together with the Akimat of Almaty, held a series of meetings and negotiations with China’s leading technology companies. Behind each of these visits lies months of preparation, negotiations, analysis, and coordinated efforts to facilitate investment projects.

For Almaty Invest, this achievement is not a coincidence, but the result of extensive work to attract the investor, support the project, and create favorable conditions for its successful implementation.

The project will bring to Almaty not only a state-of-the-art production facility for humanoid and educational robots, but also an engineering and research center, the introduction of advanced technologies, and the training of Kazakhstani specialists in robotics.

This means new investments, new high-tech jobs, new expertise, and another significant step toward strengthening Almaty’s position as a leading hub for innovation, science, and advanced technologies in Central Asia.
