ALMATY STRENGTHENS COOPERATION WITH INDIA
Today, a business forum was held in Almaty with the participation of the city’s Akim, Darkhan Satybaldy, and a delegation of Indian businesses in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
India is one of Kazakhstan’s key partners and one of the largest economies in the world. As of the end of 2025, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to approximately USD 840 million, while the volume of investments from India exceeded USD 562 million.
Particular attention was given to the development of the pharmaceutical industry. Today, India is among the main suppliers of medicines to Kazakhstan, and the market continues to show steady growth.
Almaty proposes taking cooperation to a new level — from import to local production, including the launch of joint ventures, the development of R&D, and technology transfer.
The city is ready to provide infrastructure, support measures, and full facilitation for investment projects.
